TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team will play three events this fall, two of which will be in Tuscaloosa, it was announced on Friday. The Crimson Tide begins its season October 9-11 with a home tournament, followed by a competition at Mississippi State Oct. 16-18. UA will finish its fall slate at home with another tournament from Oct. 23-25.
In accordance to new COVID-19 guidelines and formats put in place by the Southeastern Conference, the Crimson Tide schedule will feature conference-only opponents. UA will play singles and doubles matches against players from the other participating teams at each host site.
In the opening event on Oct. 9-11, Alabama welcomes in players from Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Florida to the Alabama Tennis Stadium. In Starkville, Alabama will compete against MSU and Ole Miss from Oct. 16-18. The third and final fall competition is set to be played in Tuscaloosa, with the Tide welcoming Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State from Oct. 23-25.
Fan attendance for home tournaments at the Alabama Tennis Stadium is yet to be determined.
