Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look back at the action in the Champions Cup and name our best XV from the matches that took place.
What’s on the site
It was a busy weekend in Europe and there were some exceptional performances in the Champions Cup. We have put together a Team of the Week for the quarter-finals with Saracens and Toulouse represented by five players apiece.
That competition is also discussed in ‘Who’s hot and who’s not,’ which delves into the main talking points from the past seven days. We once again look at Sarries’ win, as well as the Challenge Cup game between Leicester Tigers and Castres, which was cancelled because of a Covid-19 outbreak at the French club.
Elsewhere, check out the highlights from all the action in Europe over the weekend, including Les Rouge et Noir’s stunning performance against Ulster and Bristol’s dominant victory over the Dragons.
What’s in the news
There was a surprising announcement in Australia as Tevita Kuridrani departed the Brumbies to sign for the Western Force for the 2021 season. The centre has spent the past eight years at the Canberra outfit and helped them to the Super Rugby final in 2013.
Continuing with the men from the Australian capital and their head coach Dan McKellar has backed young fly-half Noah Lolesio to play a part in the upcoming Bledisloe Cup encounters.
Meanwhile, Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter is looking forward to the challenge of facing Toulouse in the Champions Cup semi-final after they booked their place with a 38-15 triumph over Northampton Saints.
