DURHAM, N.C.— Duke University women’s basketball head coach Kara Lawson has announced Jiselle Havas has been added to the 2020-21 roster as a walk on.
Havas, a native of Windermere, Fla., played the previous two seasons at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., where she competed in 55 games. She is coming off a sophomore season where she drained nine three-pointers, while starting three of her 28 games played.
“Jiselle has impressed me during the preseason with her commitment to this program,” said Lawson. “She is someone that has fit in seamlessly with the rest of our team.”
In two seasons, Havas drained 29 treys and scored a career-best 15 points versus Monmouth in December of 2018. The 5-10 guard hit three or more three-pointers on three different occasions.
“We are thrilled to have her be a part of our program this season,” added Lawson. “Her skill, work ethic and attention to detail will help us be a better team.”
Havas was a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection at Lafayette. She will major in mechanical engineering at Duke and have two years of eligibility remaining.
