PHOTOS: Wisconsin basketball falls short against No. 5 Iowa 77-73 – Badgers Wire

Despite having a strong start to the second half that resulted in them taking the lead, the No. 25 Wisconsin Badgers fell short against the No. 5 Iowa Hawkeyes 77-73 in their regular-season finale. This is also the first time that the Badgers have lost three straight games this season, which is concerning heading into the Big Ten Tournament.

Wisconsin forward Micah Potter lead the way for the Badgers with 23 points that tied his season-high. Unfortunately, Potter’s performance on the defensive end wasn’t able to stop Iowa center Luka Garza, who finished the game with 21 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks. Garza’s dominant effort, along with some clutch free throws, helped the Hawkeyes to put the game out of reach for Wisconsin in the final few seconds.

The Badgers will look to recover from ending the regular season on this three-game skid on the second day of the Big Ten Tournament, where they will face the winner of the game between Nebraska and Penn State on March 10.
