INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women’s tennis has been picked seventh in the Horizon League Women’s Tennis Preseason Poll, the league announced on Friday (March 12).
The Jaguars finished last in the poll, voted on by the league’s coaches, finishing with 10 points, two points behind Oakland.
UIC took the top spot in the poll with 47 points and six of the seven first-place votes. Youngstown State earned the other first-place vote and took home 42 points. The middle of the poll featured Cleveland State in third (34 points), Northern Kentucky in fourth (27 points) and Milwaukee in fifth (24 points).
The Jags bring back a seasoned roster for this year with every player on the roster returning from a season ago. IUPUI has gone 2-4 in non-conference play so far this year.
IUPUI was going to begin its Horizon League schedule over the weekend but a positive test in the Northern Kentucky program has cancelled the Jags opening weekend.
