The Notre Dame Football team will be well-represented in the 2021 NFL Draft, including when it comes to offensive linemen.
The Notre Dame Football team will have to replace a ton of talent heading into next season, as 11 players were invited to the COmbine, and 14 are working out on the nationally-televised Pro Day on March 31, 2021. For head coach Brian Kelly, one of the bigger holes left by this graduating class is up front along the offensive line, where he is going to have to replace four starters.
Between those four players, there were multiple All-Americans and a group that helped the team win ten games every year over the last four campaigns. Replacing them will be hard, but the program is loaded with talent behind them.
Notre Dame Football sees two OL taken in the first round
In a recent mock draft over at CBS Sports.com, the Irish had two players selected in the first round, which is not a big story. In fact, a lot of mocks heading into this April have two members of the Notre Dame football team going in the first round, but it is usually Liam Eichenberg and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
Owusu-Koramoah is mocked in the first round in nearly every mock draft, going everywhere from top-10 to the bottom of round one. In this mock, CBS Sports has his missing out on the first round, and instead, it is Aaron Banks who creeps into round one.
In the mock, Eichenberg shot up to No. 17 overall, joining the Las Vegas Raiders, who are in desperate need of a starting right tackle. Banks landed at No. 31 overall, going to a Kansas City Chiefs squad that has revamped their offensive line this offseason as well, so it is a nice landing spot for both prospects.
The Notre Dame Football program sends talent along the offensive line to the NFL every draft season, and they could see as many as four of them selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. For Banks, this has been an incredible year, and after earning All-American status, he could wrap his Notre Dame Football career up with a first-round selection this April.
