SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana men’s tennis team grew by two members recently as head coach Marc Kurtz announced the addition of Christian Cortinas and Henry Dornbusch.
Cortinas, hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, has an 8.9 UTR.
“We are thrilled to have Christian sign with our team,” Kurtz said. “I’ve known Christian for many years and taught him tennis lessons as a young kid in Sioux Falls before he moved to Omaha. Christian is a grinder, he’s quick around the court and he has an all-court game that will work well at the college level.
“I’m excited to welcome Christian to our team next fall and see how he progresses at Augustana.”
Cortinas plans to major in physical therapy while attending Augustana.
Dornbusch, coming to Augustana from Weener, Lower Saxony, Germany, has a 9.6 UTR.
“We are excited to welcome Henry to the team next fall,” Kurtz said. “Henry is a very strong and talented player who will make an immediate impact on our lineup. He is a tall player with a big game. His serve and forehand are his weapons and he is also solid at the net which will serve us well in doubles.
“Henry has participated in many tournaments over the past few years and he will easily adapt to the college game. I look forward to welcoming Henry on campus in the fall and seeing how his game will improve over the years at Augustana.”
Dornbusch plans to major in political science and international relations while attending Augustana.
